Velneshwar Beach
This beach is situated at Velneshwar Village. One of the cleanest beach with wonderful view. The scenic seashore of Velneshwar is very beautiful. The coastline is famous for its special features such as the beautiful coconut grooves surrounding it and a clean beach with its rumbling sea waves.
From Guhagar, after travelling for a distance of 20 kms ending with steep, twisted roads, we reached Velneshwar village. We visited this beach in early morning and experienced sun rise, as we stayed in a hotel, located at the beach itself.
Gopalgad
Gopalgad Fort / Anjanvel Fort is a fort located 51 km (32 mi) from Chiplun, in Ratnagiri district, of Maharashtra.
This fort is an important fort in Ratnagiri district. The Fort is located on a prominent and commanding point for guarding the trade route along the Vashishti River, which runs till Govindgad near Chiplun and the Dabhol port which was a busy route in medieval times. It is a fort located on a hill near the sea.
Velneshwar Temple
Sri Velneshwar Temple is believed to be one of the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati.
Representing an example of ancient Hindu architectural style, the temple houses many small shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Ganesha and Kala Bhairav. The main sanctum of the temple is adorned with paintings and stone carvings representing various episodes of mythology. This temple is flocked by a large number of devotees during the festival of Mahashivratri.
Horse Riding
Visit Chowpaty area of the Velneshwar beach if you are looking for beach side enjoyment.
Enjoy the serene horse ride along the shore with a host of pet horses that are maintained well by the horse keepers.
This is the best experience along the shore along with tasting various snack from the vendors along a clean shore.
Dolphin Safari
The highlight of the Venneshwar beach is the dolphin view.
Dolphins can be seen along 100 meters off the coast and in the blue waters.
Dolphins do not hurt tourists and hence several people prefer watching them from a close distance either at the beach or on the boat ride.
Light House
The Anjanvel light house located very close to the Gopalgad fort stand perched atop a steep hillock and offers panoramic view of the sea and is a nice place to visit especially in the evening.
Lighthouse is on a red-soil road that connects with the road leading to Gopalgad fort.
Senior community living is basically housing for citizens who have surpassed 55 years of age, yet are active, self-reliant and may or may not require assistance. Provisions are made in the form of convenient design features for seniors, access to adequate social schemes and other carefully devised suitable services.
If we see around, most of the senior citizens live in a community which provides them minimal social contact, support limited acquaintances and are often made responsible to look after their own requirements of all sorts. This need may cause frequent known/ unknown, pleasant or unpleasant contacts with other parties; which may lead to troublesome circumstances and prove a detrimental aspect to the physical and mental well-being of senior citizens in the long run.
Also, senior citizens in regards to their age associated lifestyle changes may feel misfit in the ever increasingly fast city-life culture. The idea of Senior community living and the numerous provisions provided through it, act as relevant solution to the concerns raised above. This is still a relatively new concept in our country and not that ubiquitous.
